This I Promise You

Hmmmmmm.... I liked this lyrics by *NSYNC band, so posting it to my blog page:

------------------------------------------
"This I Promise You"
------------------------------------------
Ohh ohh...

When the visions around you,
Bring tears to your eyes
And all that surround you,
Are secrets and lies
I'll be your strength,
I'll give you hope,
Keeping your faith when it's gone
The one you should call,
Was standing here all along..

And I will take
You in my arms
And hold you right where you belong
Till the day my life is through
This I promise you
This I promise you

I've loved you forever,
In lifetimes before
And I promise you never...
Will you hurt anymore
I give you my word
I give you my heart (give you my heart)
This is a battle we've won
And with this vow,
Forever has now begun...

Just close your eyes (close your eyes)
Each loving day (each loving day)
I know this feeling won't go away (no..)
Till the day my life is through
This I promise you..
This I promise you..

Over and over I fall (over and over I fall)
When I hear you call
Without you in my life baby
I just wouldn't be living at all...

And I will take (I will take you in my arms)
You in my arms
And hold you right where you belong (right where you belong)
Till the day my life is through
This I promise you baby

Just close your eyes
Each loving day (each loving day)
I know this feeling won't go away (no..)
Every word I say is true
This I promise you

Every word I say is true
This I promise you
Ooh, I promise you...

Playing with English songs

English songs was a field I was trying to avoid from a long time (as it was my penchant that I have not been made to listen these songs after my bad experience of starting with Metallica in my college days!!)
Well, finally some inner motivation caused me to get back to try these songs agian and starting with Duran-Duran really helped me to go ahead and try other songs. its just a month I am trying to listen english songs but enumerating some of those I have listen and liked:
1. All songs by Duran-Duran - basically "come undone" is my favorite
2. Anything by Dido - especially I liked "white flag" and "don't think of me"
3. Most of the songs by Norah Jones - especially "Long way home", "Dont know why" and "Be here to love me".
4. "Save the best for last" is really a soothing song by Vanessa Williams.
5. "Leaving on a Jet Plane" originally sung by John Denver has a good lyrics but "Armageddon" version is more pelasant.
6. "Careless whisper" by Micahel George is another favorite song.
7. "Afterglow" by Aussie band INXS (read as in-excess) is marvellous.
8. "Dancing Queen" by ABBA is good to listen.
9. "Love is all around" by Wet-wet-wet.
10. "Pearl Harbor" soundtrack is good to listen while sleeping.
11. "Smack that" is also a nice to listen song by AKON (and Eminem), still looking to find his newly published "Konvicted" album.

Movies, Movies and Movies!!!

Just trying to write reviews of some movies I have seen in recent past (another way of passing my time with the things I like to do):

1. Thank you for smoking (2006): Liked this movie as it gives positive reasons, defend and motivate our otherwise detested smoking community :).
IMDB Review
RottenTomatoes Review

2. Three Kings (1999) - Story of 4 American soldiers during 1991 Glf-war where they stole Goldbricks and then used it to Bribe to save Iraqi refugees. It gives a glimpse of situation of general public in Iraq, fight between Iraqi govt. and local rebels, role/influence of American soldiers in Iraq, but it has shown American troops too much heroic and war-expert (which they obviously lack!!), anyway a good watch!!
IMDB Review
RottenTomatoes Review

3. Music and Lyrics (2007) - Good nice-nice kind of romantic-comedy movie. Presence of Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant is more than enough reason to watch this movie.
IMDB Review
RottenTomatoes Review

4. Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994) - Again a Hugh Grant's romantic-comedy movie where he found that his original love is divorced just before accepting "duckface" as her wife in the church and accepts that he doesn't love his "to-be wife" on the objection of his deaf-mute brother. I liked the "Funeral Blues" song (posted below in this blog) and "Love is all around" by wet-wet-wet.
IMDB Review
RottenTomatoes Review

5. Just Married (2003): Another romantic-comedy movie starring Ashton Kutcher and Brittany Murphy reflecting that "True Love and Lovers" has a capability to overcome from any situation, only a very-bad experience on honeymoon isn't the enough reason to end a married life.
IMDB Review
RottenTomatoes Review

6. GhostRider (2007) - Movie starring Nicolas cage full of supernatural powers and actions. Nothing in this movie is interesting to watch except the Motor-Bike!!
IMDB Review
RottenTomatoes Review

7. Eternal Sunshine of a spotless mind (2004): Jim Carry and KateWinslet starred movie start in reverse order where both of them have erased their memory of each other (using a special medical technique) after the break-off. An ineteresting movie but require enough patience!!
IMDB Review
RottenTomatoes Review

8. HitchHikers guide to the Galaxy (H2G2 - 2004): A sci-fi movie based on the book (by Douglas Adams) and famous 80's TV and radio show series. Original book is organized in five volumes. This movie can only be understood well if you have gone thorugh the book or if you have enough patience to do Wikipedia for it.
IMDB Review
RottenTomatoes Review

9. Apocalypto (2007): One of those disgusting movies I have ever seen based on the living of pre-discovered American culture. I can still see forcefully detaching heart before actually killing the sacrificed in my nightmares....Yuckkkkkkk!!!!!
IMDB Review
RottenTomatoes Review

10. 300 (2007): Based on the warriors of Sparta in Ancient times and their fight against the tyrannic Persian kingdom. A nice to watch movie, liked the background music and the fighting spirit of Spartans!!
IMDB Review
RottenTomatoes Review

11. The English Patient (1996): Much appreciated movie, a romantic tragedy and one of my favorite movies. I liked the background music, character of Almasy and each and every scene of this movie. It is an adaptation of a 1992 novel by Michael Ondaatje.
IMDB Review
RottenTomatoes Review

Movies in pipeline are:
1. The Pursuit if Happyness
2. A Walk to Remember
3. Bridge To Terabithia
4. Must love Dogs 2005
5. Things to do Before You're 30 2004
6. 10 Things I Hate About You 1999

A reason for me to smile.....

Today while chatting with Huma we decided to give feedback to each other, which was something we have not done earlier ofr each other. It just got so interesting that I couldn't wait to post it to my blog page, especially feedback by Huma [:)]:

From Shiraz to Huma -
"Huma - Now, I know you from almost a year (i think it was the month of May, 2006 when we fought first time [;)], anyway), as I conceive about you, I feel you are a decent, bubbly, caring, hard-working, trustworthy, easily-annoyed, patient, stubborn and a very professional girl. Beside this you are kind-hearted, and most of the time you feel loneliness and you also have a habit of deriving sadistic pleasure (not in absolute sense, but you like teasing people around you), you can't be fooled by fake-emotions and stupid actions/comments can irritate you very easily, but I sense that you can be a pretty good-lover for anybody in the world that also means an efficient professional wife in future. May God, give you all the things you aspire for in your life!! best of luck!!!"

And I smiled a lot (and laughed aloud) when I got following tweaked version of same feedback for me:
From Huma to Shiraz -
"Yes of course our first meet was a fight when i had mixed feeling for you. I admired ur friendship for Ali at the same time i was annoyed by your narrow mindedness. What I feel about you is that you are not-decent, hard-working, not-trustworthy, easily-annoyed, impatient, and stubborn and a very professional guy.Beside this you are kind-hearted, and most of the time you feel like teasing people and having fun and so you tend to chat with me. You tend to make stupid actions/comments that annoys me but I know u r trying to irritate me....and that's OK . I sense that you can be a good-lover for a person who takes things lightly...not going deep into matters....coz u tend to get irritated and then say "Bhad me Jao" . May God, give you all the things you aspire of in your life!! All the best!!!"

I liked that "bhad me jao" thing which I use unknowingly most of the time for this girl while chatting and getting irritated... thanks Huma!!! you are such a nice person, but I am still waiting for original feedback from your side as I told you, tweaked version of feedback is not going to work for me, OK??

Funeral Blues

From 4 Weddings and a Funeral:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone, Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone. Silence the pianos and with muffled drum Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead Scribbling on the sky the message He is Dead. Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves, Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West, My working week and my Sunday rest, My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song; I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now; put out every one, Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun, Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood; For nothing now can ever come to any good.

Apologies

Forgive me, for all my cowardness;
Forgive me, for all my indifference;
Forgive me, for all my coldness;
Forgive me, for all my patience;
Avoid me, when you think;
Avoid me, when you blink;
Avoid me, whenever I cross;
Avoid me, whenever you see ;
Hate me, if I laugh;
Hate me, if I creak;
Hate me, if I dance;
Hate me, if you get chance;
Please don't get empathetic for me;
Please don't care for me;
Please don't think of me;
Forget me, in his arms;
Forget me, in his palms;
Forget me, in his kiss;
Forget me, in this bliss;

MPAA Rating System

MPAA - Motion Picture Association of America.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Content copied from - MPAA Ratings
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
MOVIE RATINGS:

G:"General Audiences-All Ages Admitted."

This is a film which contains nothing in theme, language, nudity and sex, violence, etc. which would, in the view of the Rating Board, be offensive to parents whose younger children view the film. The G rating is not a "certificate of approval," nor does it signify a children's film.

PG:"Parental Guidance Suggested. Some Material May Not Be Suitable For Children."

This is a film which clearly needs to be examined or inquired into by parents before they let their children attend. The label PG plainly states that parents may consider some material unsuitable for their children, but the parent must make the decision.

PG-13:"Parents Strongly Cautioned. Some Material May Be Inappropriate For Children Under 13."

PG-13 is thus a sterner warning to parents to determine for themselves the attendance in particular of their younger children as they might consider some material not suited for them. Parents, by the rating, are alerted to be very careful about the attendance of their under-teenage children

R:"Restricted, Under 17 Requires Accompanying Parent Or Adult Guardian."

In the opinion of the Rating Board, this film definitely contains some adult material. Parents are strongly urged to find out more about this film before they allow their children to accompany them.

An R-rated film may include hard language, or tough violence, or nudity within sensual scenes, or drug abuse or other elements, or a combination of some of the above, so that parents are counseled, in advance, to take this advisory rating very seriously. Parents must find out more about an R-rated movie before they allow their teenagers to view it.

NC-17:"No One 17 And Under Admitted."

This rating declares that the Rating Board believes that this is a film that most parents will consider patently too adult for their youngsters under 17. No children will be admitted. NC-17 does not necessarily mean "obscene or pornographic" in the oft-accepted or legal meaning of those words. The Board does not and cannot mark films with those words. These are legal terms and for courts to decide. The reasons for the application of an NC-17 rating can be violence or sex or aberrational behavior or drug abuse or any other elements which, when present, most parents would consider too strong and therefore off-limits for viewing by their children. Most major theaters will not accept a film rated NC-17 for showing. Also, many news papers and other media such as TV and radio stations will not advertise a film rated NC-17.

Television Ratings

Guidelines similar to those used for film have now been employed for rating television shows. Often, they are used in conjunction with the V-Chip or cable box lock out features to permit a parent to restrict which shows their children can watch on their own. The ratings are as follows:

TVY: "All Children."

This program is designed to be appropriate for all children. Whether animated or live-action, the themes and elements in this program are specifically designed for a very young audience, including children from ages 2 - 6. This program is not expected to frighten younger children.

TVY7: "Directed to Older Children"

This program is designed for children age 7 and above.It may be more appropriate for children who have acquired the developmental skills needed to distinguish between make-believe and reality. Themes and elements in this program may include mild fantasy violence or comedic violence, or may frighten children under the age of 7. Therefore, parents may wish to consider the suitability of this program for their very young children. Note: For those programs where fantasy violence may be more intense or more combative than other programs in this category, such programs will be designated TV-Y7-FV.

TVG: "General Audiences"

Most parents would find this program suitable for all ages. Although this rating does not signify a program designed specifically for children, most parents may let younger children watch this program unattended. It contains little or no violence, no strong language and little or no sexual dialogue or situations.

TVPG: "Parental Guidance Suggested"

This program contains material that parents may find unsuitable for younger children. Many parents may want to watch it with their younger children. The theme itself may call for parental guidance and/or the program contains one or more of the following: moderate violence (V), some sexual situations (S), infrequent coarse language (L), or some suggestive dialogue (D).

TV14: "Parents Strongly Cautioned"

This program contains some material that many parents would find unsuitable for children under 14 years of age. Parents are strongly urged to exercise greater care in monitoring this program and are cautioned against letting children under the age of 14 watch unattended. This program contains one or more of the following: intense violence (V), intense sexual situations (S), strong coarse language (L), or intensely suggestive dialogue (D).

TVMA: "Mature Audiences Only"

This program is specifically designed to be viewed by adults and therefore may be unsuitable for children under 17. This program contains one or more of the following: graphic violence (V), explicit sexual activity (S), or crude indecent language (L).
