Interesting Blog !

BTW, one of the couplets is from a ghazal by Emperor-poet Bahadur Shah Zafar instead of Muztar Khairabadi.

He penned these lines when he was deported to Rangoon,(Burma) Myanmar, after the failure of India's first war of independence in 1857.

@ Qais...
I have not enough knowledge of Sher-o-shayaree, I actually got it from Mindspeak blog by Adnan Alavi Sb where he had claimed it to be originally written by Muztar which people later got it confused with Zafar's....but I hope Adnan Sb is the correct person to tell you who ctually Owns that....and I dont mind it whoever had wrote it, what I know is that I like it very much...

in india the problem is that if a song accompanies a film (any historic movie like ghalib or about mughal kings), people think that it is written by the person.
it is surely not bahadur shah zafar's ghazal. just like people think that everything sung by ghulam ali and jagjit singh are written by them. however, n pakistan situation is better and people understand poetry and poets more.
