Londonstani
ok ok... don't get confused with the title, I left this book by "Gautam Malkani" after somehow finishing three pages of it @ my favorite vendors' shop....(thank you for saving my precious money)...
This blog is about "Namastey London" that I got to watch today. I liked this comedy-romantic movie. I am writing about this movie because as oppose to my expectation it was good from many different point of views and let me try to enumerate all those reasons for which I liked this movie:
1. Content and the way the story has been woven was good.
2. It gives a very mature and real form of love - "Love is not the name of getting it.." (forgot the original Punjabi version which Arjun recited and told that this phrase has been created for losers)
3. It highlights the real pain of Hindustani parents in English culture which they detest when it comes to their own child and like it for their own selfishness at the same time.
4. It shows the regular embarrassment of Indian origin in European conutries and the way they look down to Indians and Pakis - e.g. considering India as a country of snake charmers, asking Imran if he has any involvement with terrorist groups etc.
5. It very successfully refelcts the pain of Arjun in a very delicate manner where he unknowingly turned victim of a fake marriage done by Jazz to revenge her father.
6. Arjun's persistence and playing with all the odds patiently with full confidence and extending hands of friendship to Jazz (even after the biggest betrayal of his life) was truely a remarkable thing to note in the whole movie.
7. I loved the way KhanSb. presented the Birthday Gift to his son for his son's nice advice to Jazz. Appreciated that "khan sb. wala andaz".....even I wish to do someting like that :) ..agar mereee aulaad itnee hee nalayaq niklee toh... Khuda-na-karey...
8. Director avoided all the Gurinder Chadhdha way of stupidity to appear anywhere in the movie.
9. Also, felt better that Indian directors are learning to make no-nonsense movies with a good sense of humor and movies those deals with mature understandings.
10. And after-all Katty was there all the time and most of the time on screen, enuff to love the movie.
