Lets say "NO"
Following is the speech that I delivered in the recent toastmaster club as my project2:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Good Morning Fellow Toastmasters,
Title of my talk is “Let’s say No” ….
Yes J ….you guessed it right…. Its all about saying “NO” ….. when I decided to talk over this topic a parallel thought was going in the back of my mind that was asking me….Shiraz, have you gone crazy or you are so thoughtless to find some good topic to talk… but… I said NO J …. it is a powerful topic and I am going to talk over it … and friends that is the reason I want to share my thoughts over NO …with you ….
This two letter small word “NO” has a powerful capabilities, you find this NO sometimes motivating, sometimes it saves your life from over-commitment, sometimes it saves you from unknown troubles which you have never conceived of while you have said NO to somebody……and sometimes NO work as a positive energy…when you say “NO, I am going to do this thing” ….
NO is not a word that you always use with your colleagues, friends, relatives but you use it for yourself too… e.g. someday you found something precious somewhere unattended and you decided to steal it….. but a NO from your inner soul stops you to do this, someday you are preparing for an important test for which you are going to appear on the next day when you realize a good rain outside and wanted to enjoy it.. but again it’s NO from your inner-self that stops you to do it …. This is the power of NO that stops you from getting defocus from the priority task…
But friends, do you really think saying NO is easy?? Especially when you are talking to some persuasive human-being?? There is a way of saying blatant NO… which more or less feel like slapping to a person ….in my opinion saying No is an art so that you don’t upset people and at the same time you made him/her believe that your NO is genuine and was necessary…
But do you really think always saying NO will work.. .. Unfortunately its not the case but a perfect blend of NO in negative sense as well as NO in positive sense is necessary so that you don’t miss the real challenges or fail to grab opportunities by saying NO and save yourself in delving into unnecessary things.
Thanks!!

Now this is an interesting topic for sure.
I take it like this - Saying NO is nothing like you prepare for it. Its more so the case in which you're able to freely express yourself.
Its all about being 'Assertive'.
Good One Budds.
